The October 2026 Beauty Edit: The Best New Launches to Know
The clocks have gone back, and this month's launches have adjusted accordingly. Scent has turned warm, with amber, vanilla and a splash of whisky. Beauty keeps turning up as an accessory, from a lip balm that lives on the back of your phone to hairbrushes you'll want to leave out. And after a summer in the sun, brands are dealing with the marks it left behind.
Skin

Summer’s souvenirs tend to surface in October: the patch on the cheekbone, the freckles that didn’t fade. And two of this month’s launches deal with them in different ways.

Dr David Jack ORIEL Multi-Action Dark Spot Corrector
£139, 50ml
Hyperpigmentation is now the most common concern in Dr David Jack’s Harley Street clinic, so alongside a brand new Pigmentation Facial, he has formulated for it. ORIEL is a daily serum for morning and night, built around his Melanoclear complex. It works on pigment at several stages, from the trigger to the melanin itself, with tranexamic acid, kojic acid, an azelaic acid derivative, niacinamide and vitamins C and E. It is designed for the three kinds he sees most: melasma, marks left by breakouts, and sun damage on older skin. Be patient. Pigment takes three to six months to shift.

Trilogy Vitamin C+ Booster
£38.50, 15ml
Vitamin C works best fresh, and most serums have been sitting in the bottle for months. Trilogy’s new Pop Boosters keep pure vitamin C sealed in the cap until you’re ready. Pop it, shake it, and you have a two to four week course. For an autumn glow, choose the Vitamin C+ Booster: it combines 15% vitamin C with ferulic acid and vitamin E, to brighten dull, uneven skin. It’s strong, so those with sensitive skin should start with the gentler Pro-Collagen+ (6%) or Polyglutamic+ (2%) boosters and work upwards.

Lips and Body

Packaging is doing a lot of the talking this month. The internet went mad when it found out that Dior has put a lip balm in a gold locket you stick to your phone, and Victoria Beckham’s new lipstick comes cased in alabaster.

Dior Médaillon Lip Balm in Crystal Pink
£80
Dior’s holiday collection, Cinnamon Glaze, has produced the viral phone lip balm all over your feed. The case is a gold locket with a bow on top, borrowed from the medallion motif of the house’s first Paris boutique. Slide it open and there’s a heart of glittering pink balm. It comes with an adhesive pad so it can live on the back of your phone. There are only 2 grams inside, so you’re paying for the object. It sold out in the US shortly after its 15 October launch and has proved equally popular here. The rest of the collection though is also worth your time – we particularly love the beautifully embossed Holiday Look Limited Edition Lipstick.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Rouge Victoria
£71
Bold lips have been out of favour for a while. Victoria Beckham is making the case for them anyway. Rouge Victoria is a demi-matte lipstick in a polished alabaster case, weighty enough to keep long after it’s finished. The formula is long-wearing but comfortable, and House Red is the shade to buy.

Fenty Beauty x CASETiFY
£14 to £95
Rihanna has joined the phone-case trend Hailey Bieber started. Fenty Beauty’s limited edition 29-piece collaboration with CASETiFY launched this week and runs from mirrored cases to crossbody straps, charms and earbud cases. The piece to buy is the On The Go Essentials MagSafe holder in Cocoa Nude, which carries a mini Gloss Bomb and Invisimatte blotting powder on the back of your phone. For the full set-up, a £69 bundle combines a case, charm hook, mini Gloss Bomb and keychain.

Hair

Expect to hear more and more about the importance of scalp health, with ceramides and daily leave-ins borrowed straight from skincare. This month, that thinking reaches the supermarket shelf. Meanwhile even the humble hairbrush has had a hygiene makeover and it looks so good you’ll want to leave it out on the dressing table.

Head & Shoulders Derma X Pro Density & Growth Range
From £4
Head & Shoulders is treating the scalp as skin, and thinning hair as a scalp problem. Its new Derma X Pro Density & Growth range launched this week with a three-day Scalp School takeover in Fitzrovia, with trichologist Akta Bavalia on hand and a personalised scalp “report card” for anyone who booked an analysis. The range is built as a routine. The shampoo pairs a ceramide complex with rosemary extract to cleanse fine, weak hair while shoring up the scalp barrier. Finish with the Density Booster, a lightweight daily leave-in that works at the root to help you hold on to more hair over time. A clinic-style approach at a supermarket price.

KILLABRUSH x Rochelle Humes
£29 each, £70 for the set
Penelope Cheshire built Beauty Works into a £55m brand. Matt Lumb ran Tangle Teezer for seven years. Their new venture tackles something most of us never think about: what’s living in our hairbrush. An antimicrobial agent, BZK, is built into every bristle during manufacture, not sprayed on afterwards. Lab tests show it eliminates up to 99.9% of surface bacteria on the brush and is still working at 12 months. Rochelle Humes is the brand’s first collaborator, and her two new shades, Butter and Merlot, come on both the paddle and the vented blow-dry brush.

Fragrance

Just like our wardrobe, a change of seasons calls for a change of scent. Amber runs through all three of this month’s launches. Merit and Chloé both lay honeyed florals over a warm base, and Jo Malone has added a hearty (and warming) splash of Scotch. These are scents for romantic soirees and candlelight.

Merit New Wave L’Extrait de Parfum
£79
Merit’s first fragrance, Retrospect, became a cult hit, so the follow-up has been two years in the making. New Wave is an extrait at close to 30% fragrance oil, created by Dominique Ropion (the nose behind Portrait of a Lady and Alien) with Meabh McCurtin. It opens bright with pink pepper, angelica and orange blossom, then settles into honey, ylang-ylang and a warm amber base of benzoin, labdanum, incense, vanilla and tonka. Merit calls it a solar fragrance. We’d wear it all winter.

Jo Malone London Vanilla Scotch Cologne
£25 (10ml), £60 (30ml), £130 (100ml); Classic Candle £59

Jo Malone’s Christmas collection, Tartan Tales, heads to the Highlands, and its new limited edition scent is Vanilla Scotch: a warm, smooth vanilla amber with a healthy splash of Scotch whisky accord to give it moreish depth and a heavy dose of seduction. It comes as a cologne and a candle, and is one of our favourite new fragrances of the year. We’re already hoping they turn it into a permanent fragrance.

Chloé Le Nectar
From £75 (30ml), £105 (50ml), £151 (150ml)
Chloé has warmed up its signature. Le Nectar comes in the familiar pleated bottle, now in amber glass with a gold ribbon, and takes its mood from the house’s 1970s heyday. Perfumer Romain Almairac opens it with bergamot, moves into neroli, orange blossom and rose, and settles on tonka, amber and patchouli. It’s refillable, in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml.

Wellness

Nobody wants workout gear in the sitting room unless it earns its place. This month’s home-fitness launches try to: one with a camera that coaches your running form, the other with mats handsome enough to leave unrolled.

Onyx Brown Collection
From £94
Onyx makes yoga mats good enough to leave out: curved edges, a natural rubber base and a polyurethane top that grips better the more you sweat. Its new Brown Collection brings a rich chocolate shade to the mats, weights, weighted bands, yoga blocks and pilates balls. They’ve also created handy sets depending on your workout of choice. Our insider tip? Choose the thicker 8mm mat for Pilates and longer floor work, as the extra cushioning is kinder on knees and wrists.

Peloton Tread Vision
£2,999, plus All-Access Membership at £45 a month
Peloton’s new treadmill watches you run. A movement-tracking camera reads your stride length, cadence and bounce, then gives you tips to run more efficiently. The belt has more cushioning, and new jump buttons take you straight to the next whole speed or incline. You can also swivel the screen so that you can do workouts on a mat next to it.
