March: The New Destinations & Treatment Launches To Know
Whether you're after a haircut at London's latest salon, want to pick up products you previously had to buy in America, or your teeth whitened to perfection, March's newest destinations and treatments deliver the goods.
George Northwood Opens New Shoreditch Salon

With a host of unshakeably loyal clients including major celebrities and beauty editors, George Northwood has cemented himself as one of the UK’s best hairdressers.

So we were super excited to hear that he’s opening a brand new salon on Boundary Street in Shoreditch this month. With calming, minimalist interiors including white walls, antique looking mirrors and wooden accents, expect this new salon to be every bit as popular as their Fitzrovia branch.

They’ve got a host of brilliant new stylists joining but for colour we recommend booking to see Senior Colourist DavidBradley for long-lasting blow dries and Northwood’s former (protégé!) assistant Harry for one of their signature cool-girl bobs.

FaceGym Creates New Signature Skin Reset Facial

FaceGym have become known for their skin-sculpting facial workouts and their brand new Signature Skin Reset (£190) promises just that.

Perfect before a big event, it includes: a double cleanse 30% Lactic Acid chemical peel; their famed massage technique to de-puff, ease away tension and boost blood flow to really help skin glow; plus an on-brand red hydro-vacuum jelly mask that peels off to leave skin feeling like polished marble; and finally LED to calm any redness and promote collagen production.

As always, they will tailor it to you and your skin and you can add on any extras – Founder Inge Theron loves including their buccal inner-mouth massage (find it when booking under “Add Ons” and select FaceGym Face Physio, £45) to relieve jaw tension and really make cheekbones pop.

The treatment takes 70 minutes altogether and is currently available in their Notting Hill and King’s Road salons, as well as in NYC’s NoHo and LA’s WeHo locations.

Sephora Opens in Westfield White City

This is one opening you won’t have missed as the hype around Sephora coming back into the UK market 17 years after it closed, has been huge.

If you haven’t already checked it out IRL, the new store is a beauty (pardon the pun): 6000 square feet of spacious displays featuring not only the most in-demand brands of the moment but also classic luxury brands too. But the best bit for us? The incredible line-up of minis that they have at the back – row upon row of best-selling cult products in handy travel sizes make this not only a must-visit before any holiday but also brilliant if there’s a product you’ve been thinking about buying but would prefer to test first before you commit to the full-size price.

They really do have most brands here but if you’re looking to freshen up your routine, some of our favourites to check out include Fenty Skin and Fenty Beauty, Sol de Janeiro, Makeup by Mario, ILIA, Ultra Violette, Gisou, and Sephora’s own brand Collection range.

They also have a central beauty bar offering makeup application (a Full Face is £45), a Benefit Brow Bar offering waxing and tinting from £11.50, Seasonly Skincare Bar offering facial massages from £25 and the option to custom engrave your beauty products for £5 (or this is free with a £100 spend).

Therapy Matching Website TherapyFinders Launches

We’re big advocates for making mental healthcare more accessible and easier to navigate, so we were thrilled to read about the launch of TherapyFinders. Working a bit like a dating app but for therapy, its a free service where you fill in a detailed questionnaire and it matches you to not only the best form of therapy but also a list of suitable therapists who you can book to see in real life, over a video call or on the telephone.

The questionnaire itself asks you to select any issues or concerns from an extensive list. You are then able to select any preferences in the type of therapist you’re looking for – including their gender, age range, areas of expertise and also the type of therapy they specialise in. If you aren’t sure on the latter, you can complete further questions that help to select the form of therapy that will most suit you, plus there’s also a handy guide on their website that breaks down the different types of therapy in detail. They have over 1600 registered therapists signed up so far across areas including (amongst others) cognitive and behavioural therapy (CBT), relationship therapy, art and creative therapy, humanistic therapy, psychodynamic therapy and integrative therapy.

Finally, they offer a brilliant service called Emotional First Aid, that connects you instantly with a therapist for a one-off session online and in confidence seven days a week between 8am and 10pm for £40 per session. It also serves as the perfect taster for those who are unsure if therapy is for them.

Sonisk Opens Their First Teeth Whitening Clinic

Having already created a best-selling professional grade sonic toothbrush, Sonisk is now aiming to revolutionise the professional teeth whitening market by making it safe, easy, effective and affordable. How? By opening a teeth whitening parlour in Westfield, White City.

Having researched whitening for decades, including publishing several peer-reviewed papers on the topic, the Sonisk concept has been created by Prof. Dr Edward Lynch, one of the World’s leading dentists, and is backed by Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Touker Suleyman.

Their aim is to make teeth whitening accessible to all. Currently treatments are £99 and each one is carried out by a UK registered dentist.  It only takes 25 minutes and involves them slotting in a device to hold your lips away from your teeth, painting the formula on and switching on a UV light device that gets placed over your mouth. At the end, they use a blast of warm air to finish off the treatment before sending you on your way with a 7-day at-home kit to further the results at home. The whitening system they use is a 6% alkaline based formula that has been developed in the UK and researched over the past thirty years and unlike some other treatments, you can have it even if you have sensitive teeth.

Sonisk have big plans to open several sites across the UK in the coming three years, so watch this space (and your local shopping mall) for one near you.
