Mirror Water Soak Bath Salts, £42
Founder Estee Lalonde has always used the ritual of having a relaxing bath as a remedy to calm her mind. So it’s of little surprise that these salts were what led to her starting her own brand. With satisfyingly large pink and white bath salt flakes, they are a mineral-rich blend of Himalayan, Magnesium and Epsom salts, all three of which soothe muscles, pain and emotional distress. Lalonde has combined them with essential oils like vetiver, cedar wood and Canadian black spruce (she’s originally from Canada and wanted them to take users back to the calming forests of her youth) and the result is one of the most calming blends of bath salts that we’ve tried.
Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil, £50
Elevate your next soak in the tub with this indulgent oil, featuring a heady cocktail of aromatherapeutic ingredients. Lavender, ginger, rosemary and black pepper combine to soothe tired and achy limbs, whether the product of a hardcore workout or a particularly trying day, while softening skin all the while.
To reap the benefits, you can either pour it directly into your bath, or massage it all over before your bath – or even your shower.
Mauli Himalayan Healing Salts, £42
Mauli’s products are all designed to keep your Ayurvedic chakras in check. These bath salts are made using the unique vibrational energy of pink Himalayan salts (which contain 84 of the 92 trace minerals found in the body). They’re then infused with 13 therapeutic oils, including lavender, patchouli, blood orange and jasmine sambac, known for their soothing yet re-invigorating properties. Blended with powdered rose quartz crystals, they help clear toxins and restore unbalanced pH levels, which in turn boosts nutrient absorption, cleanses the body of toxins and soothes the mind.
Neal's Yard Remedies Seaweed & Arnica Foaming Bath, £15
Specially formulated to target tired, aching muscles, this creates ultra-light bubbles for a cloud-like finish and yet it doesn’t feel drying. Instead the soothing properties of seaweed and arnica are combined with moisturising lavender, juniper and lemon essential oils, so skin is left soft and hydrated. It’s a particular favourite to relax sore shoulders after a long day spent hunched at a desk.
