Nails Inc Mani Marker Nail Art Pens, £5
Nail art – whether you prefer elegant and subtle or more expressive and OTT – is here to stay. But unless you’ve been blessed with an exceptionally steady hand and/or artistic prowess, it’s likely that you’ve had to head to a nail bar to get it done. Until now.
Thanks to Nails Inc’s latest launch – polish in an easy to use pen-style applicator that comes in a range of six colours – you can now simply swish to add french tips, accents, dots…basically anything you can draw, onto your nails.
We’re impressed with how easy they are to use, they feel like using a marker pen and all you need to do afterwards is apply a top coat. We particularly love the Bright White to add french tips or elegant, simple lines, Sea Blue to add pretty dots and Lipstick Red to draw tiny hearts. At £5 each or £10 for three colours, they’re a fun, affordable way to elevate your mani routine at home.
SKINWORK Launches Product Range, from £32
SKINWORK has been dishing out some of the best facials in London since it opened in 2019. We’ve also always found their tailored post-treatment advice about the best products and ingredients to use for our skin reliable and informative.
So it feels natural that Founder Eilidh Smith has made the leap into skincare too. “Each product has been created to target the skin concerns we see everyday in the treatment room and meet our client’s needs in ingredients, results, design and price. The top three skin concerns our clients tell us they have are lack of radiance, congestion and ageing. We are so excited to launch our first three skincare products, allowing everyone to get SKINWORK results at home and take the brand to a wider audience through our retail and spa partnerships.”
Launching with three products, all packaged in the brand’s signature green hue, they include: the Treatment Cleanse Cream Cleanser (£32), a soft wash off cleanser that comes with a flannel mitt so you can achieve a professional-worthy cleanse at home; the Homework AHA BHA Exfoliating Peel (£46) an exfoliating spray that contains Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin + Allantoin that you spritz on the super-soft reusable cotton pads to gently resurface skin; and finally the Pro. Glow Hydrating Gel-Cream (£44) a delectably lightweight formula that still feels super hydrating.
ILIA Bright Start Activated Eye Cream, £52
ILIA’s best-selling eye cream is now available in the UK at Sephora in Westfield and online. Despite being a relatively small brand, it’s managed to work its way to being the number one selling eye cream in Sephora USA, so we were super excited to try it out.
And it hasn’t disappointed. Featuring a ceramic tip applicator, that stays deliciously cold regardless of room temperature, we’ve found it’s the perfect way to wake eyes up in the morning. You simply dot it under your eyes, before using the applicator to massage it in. Formula wise, it uses Sea Fennel, aka a plant-based retinol alternative thanks to its high amount of Vitamin A. This means that you can not only use it in the morning but it’s highly unlikely to cause any retinol-esque dryness. Throw in Avocado Oil and Caffeine and the formula has been clinically proven to brighten, hydrate, smooth and depuff. It also contains a sheer pearl to help illuminate they eye area and hide dark circles and it leaves the delicate skin around your eyes perfectly prepped for concealer.
Lixir Skin Menopausal Skin Support, £90
Amongst the myriad of symptoms that peri-menopause and menopause can cause is skin starting to feel more fragile, thinner and duller (joy!).
Which is why we love that Lixirskin Founder Dr. Colette Haydon, wanted to create a comprehensive treatment to improve the density and elasticity of skin to make it look like its juicy former self, all while improving the look of crepey lines and wrinkles.
The result is an 8-week routine and their Menopausal Skin Support set, which involves using their Night Switch Phytoestrogen and Peptide for the first four weeks to help nourish and reset skin before switching to their Night Switch Retinol mixed with their Universal Emulsion moisturiser for a skin-refreshing, radiance-enhancing boost.
The luxurious feel, efficacious results and chic packaging of this set would also make it a lovely gift for anyone who might feel in need of some TLC thanks to their hormones.
Rahua Heat Protectant Shield, £38
We all know that heat styling is one of the most damaging things we can do to our hair. Which is why Rahua have created this leave-in spray.
“Hair styling tools expose hair to excessive, damaging heat. With continued exposure over time, hair becomes extremely fragile and prone to breakage. The Heat Protectant Shield creates an invisible barrier against heat damage, keeping hair healthy and strong without weighing it down with chemicals and synthetic ingredients,” explains Rahua Co-Founder and celebrity stylist, Fabian Lliguin.
Containing 100% natural products including Avocado, Castor Seed, Almond Oils, Shea Butter and Rahua Oil, it smells heavenly and doesn’t leave any residue or weight behind. Plus, Rahua Oil’s low molecular weight means that when it is heated, it can penetrate the hair shaft, giving the spray a “hot oil” treatment ability to hydrate and smooth hair.
