It has felt for a while like every Londoner with good hair gets their hair done at Larry King. While their celebrity following is alluring – everyone from David Beckham to Mollie King counts it as their go-to – it’s the first-hand rave reviews from friends and colleagues that are the most telling. Their secret? The crack-team of hairdressing maestros Larry has assembled – all of whom are whizzes in their own right, so you know you’re in capable hands with any of the team.

That being said, as well as Larry himself, we do have our favourites. If you’re hair is driving you mad or you’re looking for an overhaul, book to see Scott Ade, who is an absolute whizz at whipping hair into shape – making corkscrew curls positively s-i-n-g and deftly adding the illusion of weight and health to limp-looking hair. Also for cuts and particularly for event styling is James Pryce (the man behind Kate Middleton’s wedding day hair). For colour, Amy Fish is the go-to for face-framing natural balayage, while Harriet Muldoon is an absolute must for any blonde. Treatment wise, Vicky Demetriou does some of London’s best extensions – super natural looking, zero damage and minimal upkeep.

Prices across the board are fairly high, although not unusual for London but you do at least get bang for your buck: results here impress – cuts revolutionise hair and colour grows out so naturally you won’t need to run back every 6 weeks. Excitingly, they’ve now opened a second salon in Westbourne Grove.
