Destino Says...

Jiemao Lashes & Brows have become known for being the only place in London to offer organic lash & brow lifts. They also do beautiful lash extensions, HD brow tinting and shaping, micro blading & ombre brows and have four different locations across North London. If you need your lashes or brows tending to, the chances are they will have you covered AND they will most likely have a studio that’s conveniently located.

LA-born founder Salina Boardman is an expert in her own right, having undertaken extensive training in all of the treatments they offer but she’s also proving a dab hand at spotting fellow talent – her carefully compiled roster of technicians are some of London’s best.

In terms of their locations, the most homely is their Stoke Newington studio, where they welcome children and pets (and resident Frenchie Rambo may be there to greet you). We headed to their newest location, a completely private room in Soho’s Salon64 – a creative hub for hairstylists and beauty experts. There’s only one treatment chair, so you’ll always be guaranteed privacy. We had a full set of lashes on our visit (more on that later) and while we were perfectly comfy for the 90 minutes, some may prefer to head to their other locations where there are beds for longer treatments. That being said, the fact that it’s so centrally located meant we were out and at a dinner with friends within minutes, making it the perfect place to head to if you’re in town. They’ve also got a lovely room in Story Marylebone, a chic aesthetics clinic, and finally there is their flagship salon in Shoreditch, which is in Cleeve Workshops, an adorable row of single-story traditional workshops built in the late 1800s.

For treatments, their aforementioned organic brow and lash lifts are known to be brilliant, and being fans of extension, we opted to try their Classic Lashes and saw the wonderful Petya, who took time to talk us through the look and finish we were after (“natural with volume rather than excess length”). The result was exactly that – having weaved in some different lengths to help open up our almond-shaped eyes, they were lashes that just looked like really really amazing natural lashes. They also lasted brilliantly – it was a full 5 weeks before we felt the need to add strategic mascara to cover sparse patches and 7-8 weeks before the final lashes fell off.
