George Northwood’s Fitzrovia salon is often described as a home-from-home by loyal clients. Why? Because no one does a hair overhaul quite like George, which also explains why he’s many a beauty editor’s go-to, particularly if and when they feel like going from long to short hair (his signature “lob” has been seen on everyone from Alexa Chung to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). His styling skills are equally infamous (he did the Duchess of Sussex’s evening wedding hair and regularly flies around the world to attend to his A-List client list) but his warm, down to earth personality means he’s a joy to see and be around.
Getting to actually see him though is another matter, so we love Beni and Lotte for her ability to keep hair in tip-top condition. On the colour front, George’s sister Sally is brilliant with blondes, natural sun-kissed brunettes or for those looking for an edgy but not too ‘out there’ look (think beautifully subtle pink and rose-gold washes) and we also love all of Deme Thomas’ work.
