Tucked away behind the coffee shops of Westbourne Grove, the mews house exterior of Body Works West belies what lies within: a gym, pool, members area and wellness clinic with some of London’s top experts in residence.

If you’re here to exercise you are spoilt for choice: the gym has a mix of the latest gadgets and machines (muscle stimulation session anyone?) along with all of the tried and trusted equipment even the biggest gym buff might need. And that’s before you’ve got to the spa pool, their wide array of classes or the dedicated reformer pilates studio (the latter of which is also open to non-members, although you’ll pay a slightly higher class fee). Better still, they have an entire medical therapy division on site, so if you tweak a muscle, want to ensure your diet matches your workout, or even top up on your Botox, there’s an array of specialists including physiotherapists, nutritionists and reflexologists on hand to help.

Their small but succinct members area is a great place to work or relax in afterwards. The mood here is friendly but don’t be surprised if you find yourself sitting alongside the Hollywood actors, Notting Hill creatives and supermodels who all call Body Works West their home from home.
