DESTINO is a curated guide to places and products worth your time. This page explains how things get onto the site, and what commercial relationships sit behind them.

How places are chosen

We choose the venues we list. Nobody buys their way onto the site as an ordinary listing.

Some venues invite us to visit as press guests. Where that has happened and it’s relevant to what we’ve written, we say so at the foot of the listing. An invitation never guarantees a listing, and it never obliges us to write positively.

Where a listing forms part of a paid partnership, it is clearly labelled as such at the top of the page, before the copy.

The places we list have been experienced first-hand, either by us or by someone we know and trust who reports back.

How products are chosen

Products in our shop reach us in three ways: we buy them, brands send them as press samples, or we feature them on the basis of published information without having tested them.

To make it onto our store, a product has to meet one of two tests: it’s something we’ve used and rate, or it’s new and newsworthy enough that we want you to know about it before we’ve had time to try it. Where we describe how a product feels or performs, we’ve used it. Where we haven’t tested something yet, we describe what it is and what the brand claims for it.

Some links on our shop pages are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy through them. This is disclosed on every page carrying them, above the first link. Commission does not determine what we feature.

The Hunter Club

Our Hunters test products and places and give feedback. Brands can pay to have products or their destination tested by the Hunter Club. Where a listing or feature results from a paid Hunter partnership, it is labelled as a paid partnership.

Hunter feedback is reported as we receive it. We do not select only favourable responses.

Reviews and testimonials

Where we quote customer feedback, we present it fairly rather than selecting only positive comments. We do not publish reviews written by anyone with an undisclosed interest in the product or venue.

Health and wellness content

We describe treatments and services rather than promising outcomes. We are not medical professionals and nothing on this site is medical advice. Where a treatment or supplement is described, we report what the provider or brand offers — not what it will do for you.

Accuracy and corrections

Details change. Prices, opening hours, locations and services listed here were correct when checked but may since have altered. Always confirm directly with the venue or retailer before booking or buying.
