The Backstory
I come from a family of pharmacists so grew up surrounded by potions, formulas, and the quiet confidence of people who know how to make others feel better. Add to that a French appetite for independence (and a hint of rebellion), and voilà: an aesthetic doctor who couldn’t resist creating his own playground.
What led me to specialise in natural looking cosmetic medicine? Honestly? It was an allergic reaction to overfilling. I couldn’t bear the “pillow face” trend. The French way is restraint, elegant, a touch that leaves people guessing if it’s genetics, love, or simply good lighting.
The idea for PERS came after explaining – yet again – the difference between a serum and a cream to a patient. I thought: “If I have to draw one more skincare flowchart, I’ll scream.” So I made it simple: Protect, Embellish, Repair, Stimulate. PERS was born out of my survival instinct.
My co-founders, Quentin Douce, Sophie-Lisa Prêcheur and I share the same obsession: skincare that doesn’t lie and actually works. They’re visionaries on brand and business; I’m the doctor who knows how skin behaves under a microscope. Together, it was less of a decision and more of an inevitability.
Skin in the clinic is pampered, patient, and under my watchful eye. Skin at home? It’s neglected, rushed, multitasking while you’re on Zoom. The challenge was making formulas foolproof and luxurious enough that people want to stick to them.
The moment I realised PERS was going to be something big was when patients started texting me selfies with their PERS SPF. You know you’ve made it when people brag about protecting their face.
Maintaining a work-life balance while running both clinics and scaling PERS globally is hard! But I do ride horses, disappear to my country house in Dampierre when I can, and to be honest I love my job and skin care so much that it is kind of relaxing for me to work on it.
What’s next for PERS that I’m most excited about? Without giving away state secrets…let’s just say your future favorite collagène stimulation sérum might already be on my desk.
