One of our greatest Lockdown 1.0 discoveries was Nathalie and her wonderful NRG Barrebody method, which is a muscle-toning ballet-barre approach (try one of our three free IGTV classes with her for a taste).

Why We Love It 
An ex-ballet dancer, Nathalie has launched live classes as well as an app that has a range of over 300 pre-recorded and uploaded live classes on – from 3 minute ab-blasters to 60 minute full body workouts with or without props. You can also select your level – beginner or advanced and build your own longer workout using her short muscle-specific classes. She also offers a premium membership where as well as the on-demand classes, you also get unlimited access to her live streamed classes (25-35 per month).

Founded by ex-Broadway performer Ashley Verma, the Define London method was born after Verma discovered that she had a career-ending ruptured ACL. Having been practising barre and training clients using her own blend of moves on the side, the Define method was born.

Why We Love It 
They have a variety of class types and three levels -Beginner, Mixed and Advanced. They’re also running a staggering 72 classes a week over lockdown so you can be sure to find one at a time that suits.

The online outpost of one of our favourite London destinations, Paola’s Body Barre (or PBB for short) classes combine the killer (but effective) moves from pilates and mixes them with limb-lengthening ballet-barre sequences. The result is an intense workout that will see you use every muscle, including quite a few that you didn’t know you had.

Why We Love It 
There’s a full schedule of live classes or you can opt to join their on-demand channel instead. Across each you’ll find their 45 minute classes, which come in a variety of forms: Signature, Burn (a step up thanks to its cardio focus) , Peach (which targets the glutes and thighs) and their excellent Babybarre classes for pre/postnatal.

Although relatively unknown in the UK, Barre3 have 152 locations across the US, Canada and the Philippines and their online workouts have a legion of fans worldwide. Their method is a full body cardio, muscle toning blitz of barre-inspired moves.

Why We Love It
They’ve launched an online platform that has hundreds of classes. You can search by length (they go from 10-60 minutes), the props you need or a particular instructor you like, so you can always find one to match your needs. Plus there are 7-30 day challenges you can follow too.

Free 15 day trial that you can cancel at anytime. It’s $29 p/month after that (roughly £22).

Barrecore ignited the Barre movement in the UK (the original Barrecore Founder Niki moved from the US and couldn’t find a class near her). They now have studios across the UK and had already launched online classes way before Covid struck. They have a variety of muscle-shaking class types available depending on experience or life-stage (their pre/postnatal classes are excellent).

Why We Love It
They have a vast array of classes in their on demand platform and are running a full weekly timetable of live streamed classes if you prefer to have the structure and style of a live class.
